I recently noticed ads for Progressive Insurance popping up after my games of Sudoku. Now this came as a shock to me, as I usually get creepy dating ads that make me question the possible revenue these apps could be making on clicks. This ad proves that the future of mobile ads is looking bright- and that interaction is everything.
I really liked the approach because they’re asking gamers to play a game as incentive to download their app and it doesn’t outright ask them to do so. Instead, it has the gamer throw the app at ninja’s who sneak through the Progressive store.
The only reason you’d need this app is if you use Progressive, but the game both encourages its customers to try out the app and promotes brand awareness. It’s fun, creative, interactive and it keeps Progressive on your mind.
